This unit has four consultants (two public health physicians, one cardiologist and one nephrologist) and three medical officers. The renal dialysis unit has 8 beds and 4 dialysis machines. It runs a 24-hr service. The cardiology unit takes both electrocardiogram and echocardiogram diagnoses. There are two medical wards in the hospital – Male and Female medical ward. Each ward contains about 25 beds. Many of the patients are also admitted in the private ward which has 11 rooms.

The hospital has 6 main sections in Paediatrics and child care:

These are supervised by 2 senior consultants

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

This is one of the most vibrant units in the hospital. It has 2 consultants and a medical officer. The hospital records about a hundred deliveries each month, and very many O&G surgeries. There is a labour ward containing about 20 beds and a post – natal ward containing about 25 beds.

Orthopaedics/Traumatology
This unit has two Consultant Surgeons and a medical officer

Urology
This unit has one consultant, with a medical officer helping. This unit undertakes endoscopic surgery.

In all, there are two surgical wards – Male and Female surgical wards, each containing about 25 beds.

Orthopaedics/Traumatology

This unit has two consultants with a medical officer helping. The patients are admitted in the surgical wards.

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)

This unit has a consultant who runs his clinic twice weekly. His in-patients are admitted in the surgical ward.

Ophthalmology

This unit has one ophthalmologists, one optometrist and one optician. The unit takes ophthalmic surgeries.

Accident and Emergency

This 24-hour unit receives all hospital emergency cases for stabilization before transferring to the appropriate unit for further management, if need be. This unit has three medical officers, while all hospital consultants are on call here. The unit has about 12 beds and a theatre.

Dentistry

This unit has a dentist and dental therapist a visiting dental surgeon. The dental clinic runs daily.

Physiotherapy

This unit has a physiotherapist who takes care of the hospital patients, both in-patients and out-patients. The hospital has some modern machines to facilitate services in this unit.

Anti-Retroviral Therapy

In conjunction with Family Health International (FHI) and Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (GHAIN), our hospital is a comprehensive care centre for HIV Patients. With over 6,000 registered patients on anti-retroviral therapy, the hospital is among the largest private health institutions giving this care in the country.

Diagnostics

With about 10 Scientists and many technicians and assistants, our hospital runs a full-scale enhanced laboratory – haematology, microbiology, chemistry, parasitology.

Pharmacy

The hospital has a central pharmacy that controls all the drug activity of the hospital. This pharmacy is controlled by three pharmacists – the superintendent pharmacist with a masters’ degree and two other certified pharmacists. There are many other pharmacy technicians and assistants. The pharmacy runs all day and has different outlets for easier distribution of drugs. The hospital pharmacy sources its drugs directly from different pharmaceutical companies, and not from the open market to ensure quality.
